Does Anybody Out There Even Care

Well, I just finished "Life of Pi".

I'm only what? Four months late.

Does anybody still want to talk about it?

I just want to say a couple of things about it:

1) I got a real "Castaway"/"Old Man and the Sea" feel except it was slightly less interesting than the former and way more interesting than the latter, and

2) I was reading the discussion questions at the end and the author believed that the novel would make you believe in God. I didn't get that at all.

So I guess we can talk about "The Devil in White City" some time in the fall. I really suck at this book club thing.

I care

Good for you for sticking with it... it was a tough read for me too, but I was glad I finished it.

I'm having a hard time finding time to read The Devil in White City... I'm going on a trip in a couple of weeks... thinking that it'll serve as good plane reading.

Yeah, that is when I read "Pi".

As for "The Devil in White City", I really thought we had a copy of it. I know Gabe read it a while back. We muct have lent it out.

I liked Pi but it was hard to read as well. I really wanted the 'larger than life' story to be real.
I just finished Calamity (and I was the moderator...cough...hack...) and I can say don't bother. It was good but not that good.
Haven't been able to start Devil. Maybe we can post in Boston and you can post in Chicago...

Pi was very hard to read. I think all of you will find "Devil..." a much easier read. I am going to re-read it so I can actually, you know, participate in the discussion...
